Quick February magic type update -

Posted on 23rd Feb 2016 15:27:34

Hello everyone. Hope you are all well. It’s been a while since I have last blogged but I’m still here. Last weekend I was performing cabaret magic at an event in Leeds. It was a right good night helping to raise money as well. It’s not often I get to do much cabaret magic these days as it is mostly close-up.  Hopefully this will change this summer as me and my colleague Craig Stephenson finally get round to developing and putting on our show we tried for last Halloween! Just need to find some time together and a good (spooky?) location in York.

Winter is slowly coming to an end and Spring will be here. The season of weddings approaches! If you would like a magician performing at your event get in contact!! Hopefully in the upcoming months I’ll add some more stuff to this blog, maybe some video footage, a bit about myself, maybe even teaching a simple trick…. Who knows!!

In other news, I have just been accepted to study at York University for a Masters in Early Modern History... hopefully researching somethign related to magic!! exciting times!!

Well untill next time.. adios

Help for Heroes Magic

Posted on 13th Dec 2015 16:43:09

Christmas 2015 is just over a week away now. The most magical time of the year they say. Well it can be when you have a Magician at your event!  I still may be able to squeeze you in so if your party needs some last minute entertainment ideas get in touch!

Just this week I was honoured to perform at the Christmas party at the Help for Heroes recovery centre at Catterick Garrison. This centre helps soldiers who have either become wounded, injured or sick, lead active fulfilling lives.

You can read more about it what they do at this link http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/how-we-help/recovery-centres/catterick-north-yorkshire/

The magic went down really well and I hope I changed people’s expectations as to what close-up magic entails. The reactions visibly changed from “yeah ok magic” to “OMG”

Ok see you all next year – 2016! Hopefully it will be a better year and more people can witness my magic.

Adios

That time of year again - Christmas Party Magician

Posted on 9th Nov 2015 11:39:39

Hello everyone. Hope you are all well. Well autumn is definitely here. The leaves are falling down, the temperature is falling, Guy Fawkes Night has passed and most frighteningly of all the Christmas lights are now being switched on! They say it seems earlier each year and I agree!

With the plethora of adverts now being shown and shops selling their Xmas gear maybe it is time to think about planning for the event itself.

Many companies will now be deciding what to do for their annual Christmas jollies – An office party? A big posh ball? Maybe just a pub trip? A party can be a great way of rewarding staff

Well whatever the case, entertainment is an important component to help make the season jolly! A Close up Magician is a great way to entertain your staff or guests.

I can for instance:

  • Provide magic at the tables at your Christmas ball or dinner entertaining your guests between courses, helping the night flow, filling in those gaps when the waiting staff are going round feeding you!
  • Mix and mingle magic at a cocktail party, helping break the ice among people who may not know each other, helping people get into that festive mood proving amazing Christmas Magic.

Of course another good time to have a party is just after Christmas, in January. This can help boos that back to work blues many people will surely have, plus you may even get the location you wanted for a cheaper price! This time is usually less busy for a magician as well so there is more chance of getting your required date if you wish to book.

Last year I was honoured in January to provide entertainment for the Total Lindsey Oil Refinery ball in sunny (!!) Cleethorpes. This was a huge ball spread over three nights and I along with a colleague provided table magic. The comments received show that the magic was hugely appreciated with people talking throughout the night about how amazing the tricks were and how they were so confused!

Don’t delay and get in contact now to see what I can provide and get a quote.

Until next time. Adios!
