About Adrian Salamon

It started with a dusty deck of cards in my university flat in Cumbria. Beyond the familiar card games, I discovered a world of wonder. A trip to WHSmith led me to a basic magic book – I mean, a really bad one too. I soon devoured this book and then moved on to a proper classic magic book—The Royal Road to Card Magic

While training as a teaching assistant, I met Robin Martin (Martiny’s Magic), who became my mentor. Together, we created a horror-themed stage show and even performed at a music festival.

After moving to Yorkshire, I joined the magic societies in York and Harrogate, refining my craft until close-up magic became my full-time passion.

There is another side to my background that most people don’t expect. Alongside my performance career, I hold a Master’s degree in Early Modern History from the University of York. My thesis focused on the human body as a site of entertainment in early modern London fairs—exploring the origins of danger, different types of performing body, spectacle, street performance, gender, and human psychology. When I’m not performing at weddings, corporate galas, or venue residencies, you’ll usually find me exploring local history, practising Wing Chun, or stepping back in time in full Victorian costume as a volunteer at York Castle Museum.

In 2025, I reached a career highlight by successfully auditioning for the world-famous Magic Circle, joining the ranks of the world’s most elite magicians.
